It was founded by the Blounts&Moore team, a collaboration of nine highly accomplished women partnering with other like-minded, socially conscious entrepreneurs. Our Market 96 name pays tribute to the first state-level cannabis legalization in the United States in 1996 and honors the cannabis experience of today.

Now as a leader, I guide budtenders to foster community understanding and eradicate cannabis stigma. An Aurora native, I am passionate about uniting diverse individuals through education on the various benefits and consumption methods of cannabis.

To be located at 7300 Twin Pyramid Parkway in Belleville, the 7,000-square-foot facility will employ about 40 workers, according to founding partner Sherri Blount. The company hopes to open the dual-purpose manufacturing and processing facility and dispensary — which it says will be the first of its kind in the state — in the first half of 2024.
